John Dilworth
WAITE Born circa. 1865, died 1955 Kansas City, Missouri USA. Reputed to be the first violin maker in Kansas City. About 150 violins made on Stradivari model. Ebony fillet in the scroll and purfling brought to a ‘W’ shape under the back button. Clear gold-brown copal varnish. Fine local maple. [Wenberg]
