TIPHANON (THIPHANON), Jean François Worked circa. 1775-1800 Paris France. Assumed to be a pupil of Gaviniès, to whose will he was a witness in 1772. Occupied several addresses in the city: rue St Honoré-du-Louvre, then at St Thomas du Louvre, finally from 1800 at 422 rue Batave. One guitar in the Musée de la Musique, Paris labelled: Tiphanon, rue St.- Thomas- / du- Louvre, à Paris, 1780
