THOMA, Alexander Born 1872 Vienna Austria, d. after 1940 Dorchester, Maryland USA. Active from 1887. Son and pupil of Jacob Thomä, below. Accompanied him to Boston 1889 and succeeded to his business 1917. Appointed repairer to the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Moved to Dorchester 1940. Copies of Amati, Stradivari, and Guarneri. Golden-brown, orange, and red oil varnish. Alexander Thoma / Boston. Mass. / 1928. U.S.A.
