TASSINI, Bartolomeo Worked circa. 1740-1758 Venice Italy. Stainer model. Rather unrefined work. Pale yellow or dark brown varnish, neither of which are totally satisfying. Wide-set upright soundholes, maple purfling, some with ebony black outer strips. Tapering pegbox. Broad across the chin but very narrow at the large open throat. Prominent eyes to the volutes. Materials generally of first class. Opus Bartholomaey / Tassini 1756 Opus Bartholomei / Tassini Venetiae. 1752
