Joseph Hermann Born circa. 1682, died 1765 Günzberg Germany. Senior member of this extensive family of violin makers. His own work is little known. Possibly worked in Günzberg c.1718 on the evidence of a label cited by Vannes and Lütgendorff, but it is unclear whether his label is from another maker of the same or similar name: Joseph Stoss lauden / und geig.
