RAUCHE, Michael Worked circa. 1757, d.c.1784 London UK. Presumably connected to the Rauch family, above, but not proven. Worked in Chandos Street, and by 1778 in ‘Tufton Street-Lumley Street’, Westminster, London as music seller, publisher, and instrument maker. Earliest work dated 17571-1759. Signed also with the name Hoffmann. Worked at some point with J. Dickeson. Arrested and imprisoned for debt in 1778. The business taken over by J. Buchinger. Lutes and citterns of great quality.
