LENHART, Joseph Rudolf Born 1862, Worked from 1895 Litomerice (Leitmeritz) Czech Republic, d. after 1902 USA. Emigrated to the USA 1902. Classical Italian and Stainer models in various grades, with both spirit and oil varnishes. One eccentric design of 1869 had soundholes cut in the centre ribs rather than in the belly and the treble foot of the bridge extending through the belly onto the back. Varnished the interior also.
