GALRAM, (GALRÃO) Joaquin José Worked from c.1765, d.c.1797 Lisbon Portugal One of the finest makers to come from Portugal. Assisted by F. A. Dini who continued the workshop for some years after his death. Several instruments are in the collection of the Lisbon Conservatoire, previously in the possession of King Louis I. Very fine work on a slender Amatisé model with finely cut soundholes, quite upright and Stradivarian. Delicate small scroll with short narrow throat.
