ERTL, Karl Born 1835, died 1870 Bratislava (Pressburg) Slovakia Son and pupil of Jakob Ertl, below. Fine craftsman. Used various Italianate models. Edges very rounded, scroll wide across the eyes. Used different varnishes, mostly very successful, with deep colouration and good texture. Heavily inlaid violin in the Musée de la Musique, Paris. Carolus Ertl / Geigenmacher in Pressburg / 1834
