DOLLENZ, Giuseppe Born 1832, died 1892 Trieste Italy. Son and pupil of Giovanni Dollenz, above. A more prolific maker than his father, his work shows much the same character and traits, though his varnish is if anything inferior. Often used a broad grained softwood for the table which is possibly of local origin. Cellos are very worthwhile and follow a broad, almost Montagnana-like, pattern. Giuseppe Dollenz No. 102 / Fecit in Trieste. Anno 1887
