DIETZ, Johann Christian (I) Born 1773 Darmstadt Germany, died 1849 Netherlands. Established in Emmerich-am-Rhein, Germany from 1805. Later in Paris at 27 Boulevard de la Madeleine. Primarily a maker of harps and guitars. Along with his son, Johann Christian (II), below, developed the ‘Claviharp’ and ‘Trochleon’.
