CHANOT, Florentine Demoliens Born 1798, died 1858 Saint-Soflieu France. Wife and pupil of Georges Chanot (I), below. Mother to Adolphe and Georges (II). Exhibited in Paris 1827. A pamphlet by Cyprian Desmarais (1836) describes three violins between 1827 and 1829, one of which was presented to the eminent violinist J. B. Cartier. Retired through illness to native village Saint-Soflieu 1840.
