John Dilworth
HILL, Albert Edgar Phillips (PHILLIPS, Albert Edgar) Born 1883, died 1981 London UK. Stepson of Arthur Frederick Hill, below. Apprenticed in Mirecourt and worked for Fiorini in Munich for two or three years c.1904. Purchased the business of W. E. Hill & Sons from Alfred Ebsworth Hill, below. Adopted the Hill family name, which ensured the continuity of the business after the Second World War. Succeeded by his son Desmond D’Artrey Hill (Born 1916). One violin bearing the label: ‘sub disciplina Giuseppe Fiorini / Albert Hill / fecit München anno 1904 [BVMA]
