John Dilworth

DÖLLING, Hermann (II) Born 1862, died 1923 Markneukirchen Germany. Son and pupil of Hermann Moritz Dölling, above. Worked for Ludwig Gläsel, then Ernst Liebich in Breslau, and lastly August Riechers in Berlin before returning to the family business in Markneukirchen, which in 1886 became the ‘Vogtländische Musikinstrumenten-Fabrik’. Medals awarded at Zwickau 1906 and Berlin 1907. Early work in his own hand is generally imitative of various Italian masters, and of a high level of workmanship. Later instruments are the work of several employees in his shop. Hermann Dölling Jr.
