THOMÄ, Jacob Born 1848 Györ (Raab) Hungary, died 1917 Boston, Massachusetts USA. Established as a clock maker in Vienna. Self-taught violin maker following the success of his daughter as a violinist. Early work using wood from a local church. Gold medal awarded in Vienna, 1888. Emigrated to the USA 1891. Established in Boston assisted by his son Alexander.
