TAUBER, András Born circa. 1794 Vienna Austria, died 1833 Bratislava (Pressburg) Slovakia Presumed to be a pupil of F. Geissenhof. Established in Bratislava, Slovakia (formerly Pressburg, Hungary) from 1820 and granted citizenship in 1829. Large Stradivari model. Low arching and thick rounded edges. Scroll appropriately grand in the Pressburg school style. Hard brown varnish. Andreas Tauber Geigenmacher in Presburg 1824 [Benedek]
