SKOMAL, Nicolaus Georg Worked circa. 1776-1820 Graz Austria. Appointed luthier to the Austrian court 1809. Violins and plucked instruments, typical of the Prague school. Flat arch with mediocre brown varnish and fairly plain materials. Henley describes cellos on a Guadagnini-like model of better quality. Various labels found with the name given as Nicolaus Skomal and Georg Skomal as well as Nicolaus Georg. Nicolaus Georgius Skomal / fecit Graecii, 1798
